Stuttering, Choppy sound record

I need to record only sound, for video recording (black screen) I set the bitrate to 50.
This works well on one computer, but on the second one sound is recorded with stutters.

Changed the buffer size in the sound card control panel (RME), does not help.
Tried version 27 and 29. Same result.
Can you please help me?

Sounds like clipping, but several things can sound like that. Do you have a good version to compare levels?

A longer recording with some variation in content would be good too.

No, there are no clips. Someone on YouTube recomended to reduce the input volume. Strange way but it helped a lot of people.
But in my case the sound chopped, it interrupts all the time.

Do you have better info, like I asked for? You're probably not going to get much help as it is.

I notice the same with my videos. I would do a screen capture with OBS in the background and it would clip and be distorted. If it was in the foreground it would record fine. This drove me nuts for weeks/months. This was never an issue for years. Now when I record something I must leave it in the foreground or make sure nothing is over the software.
