Bug Report Studio Mode on OBS macOS extremely laggy even latest 23 RC1 Update

Everything is fine when running in normal mode. It is 60fps. However when Studio Mode is activated, it goes down to 20fps.

Unfortunately, this is correct and is caused by a design limitation in macOS. Jim has a plan to fix it, as he believes he has a solution, but there's no ETA. For now you could try using the Multiview, or individual Preview & Program projectors then disable the preview.

I think the only other workaround for this is extra GPU power.

For me, with High Sierra, OBS 23 and an RX580, activating Studio Mode causes the amount of time required to render a frame increase significantly-- but not enough to lower the effective frame rate.

I've noticed that the Mixers also consume quite a bit of CPU in High Sierra. I hide all the ones I don't need.
