Question / Help Streaming to Television

I'm unfamiliar with a lot of the under-the-hood stuff going on with OBS so this is going to be a pretty broad question. If I were to set up a broadcasting system which broadcast directly to my and/or other peoples' TVs, would I be able to hook OBS into this instead of Twitch or another streaming service? I presume I would have to utilize the Build From Source option, but I want to make sure that I can do this. For reference, the broadcasting system would be running linux.

Conceptually, I feel like it should be possible. If I can use the broadcasting system to capture the data streamed by my OBS client, I should be able to broadcast it in whatever format necessary.

This is almost a question that could be answered by getting a tour of your local news or television station. to understand the hardware needed to broadcast to a TV. if you are talking about broadcasting directly to a TV that is. if you are talking just over the internet, NginX is what most people use in linux to do what you are wanting.

Thanks for the link, it'll be really helpful! In retrospect I think that broadcasting over the Internet is probably the best thing to do anyways, I don't really have the means to acquire the hardware necessary for what I'd originally intended.
NginX is pretty neat as you can also do transcoding and multistreams so play with it and see what you can do!
