Question / Help Streaming to Akamaihd.net

I am having issues streaming to Akamai HLS (akamaihd.net).
I usually use Wowza streaming cloud to publish to Akamai which works fine (so use OBS to push a rtmp stream to wowza, who then transcode and sends to Akamai). I would use the following inputs (I have removed the private details) in Wowza streaming cloud:

Primary URL
http://post.mystream.akamaihd.net/123456/eventname

Stream name
streamingaccount_1_1000@123456

I have tried the following in OBS, but I can't connect to the server. I want to bypass wowza for some testing, but can't get it to work. Any help would be much appreciated

You probably can't. OBS only outputs RTMP, and it looks to me from a cursory googling like AkamaiHD is using F4M. If Wowza is doing that transcoding for you, you can't cut it out.

akamaihd does support rtmp ingest;
you need to set it up in your akamai account.
