Hi there!
I wanted to ask you guys is there something wrong with my PC or it's okay?English is not my native language so im apologize in advance.
I'm trying to find best settings for streaming Overwatch but i have some problems with it:First of all, i don't wan't to lose any smoothness of the game for myself , and i don't want the game to go down below 144fps , because i have 144hz monitor , and it's really important for me because i play at GM+ SR.
( I wan't to provide best content for my viewers, so if the game will not be smooth/lowest input lag/etc i will not be able to play as good as i can, even though i want best - looking image for them.)
Here is list of CPU Usage Preset in OBS + Output resolution , with which my game feels playable for me and without fps drops below 144:

Resolution:Preset:CPU Usage Streaming+Gaming
1080p:Ultrafast:70-85%
900p:Superfast:75-85%
720p:veryfast:80-90%
Main question is , is this okay for my PC or not? Because i think it should be able to do more? (8700k is OC'd to 4.7Ghz)
And which preset i should use in your opinion ? ( I believe 1080p is worst-looking at Overwatch in my situation, and i think i will go with 900p as compromise)
Thanks!

That CPU usage is way too high for those presets, especially for a 12 thread processor. 720p60 Very Fast should be less than 20%, if that, I doubt Overwatch is using 70% CPU

There's some shenanigans going on, I know you are summing your Game CPU usage in there but that is way too high to be normal.

Post an OBS log from one of your recent sessions so we can see your configuration

Alright 2 things.

1. Double check that GAME MODE, is turned off. I see you have the other 2 Gaming Features off but this one snuck in on the latest Windows 10 update and not everyone has turned it off.

2. Create a new SCENE COLLECTION (OBS>Scene Collections>New), call it New or Test. Don't worry, you can switch to your old one after.

In your new scene collection, add a single Game Capture, nothing else.

Restart OBS, test recording/streaming Overwatch with just the game capture and 720p60 Fast. Then stop recording/stream and paste that uploaded log here.

Try to grab a screenshot of your Task Manager Details tab as well, sorted by CPU Usage

Is there any way i can find balance between work that CPU doing and GPU by the way?
For example, Can 1080p Nvenc beat 900p x264?

40% CPU at Fast , I would have to see another 8700K to know if this is normal, it seems high. You may be better off using NVENC yes.

You could try out the 23.0 RC1 client. Fair warning, this is beta version still in testing, the official release of 23.0 should be coming up Soon™

It has an improved NVENC encoder that boasts better performance and with you having a 2070 you will get better quality than the previous generations of GPUs (You will also get these quality improvements in your current version as well)

https://github.com/obsproject/obs-studio/releases/tag/23.0.0-rc1

This version has the new NVENC and it also has Twitch Chat integration but your OBS.live plugin may not be compatible.

Do not install this version overtop of your existing OBS, download the ZIP and extract it to a folder and run the OBS64.exe found in the /bin folder

Okay will try to do this!
By they way, when i cap my FPS at 144, it reduced cpu usage by Overwatch from ~50 to ~30 %, may my GPU create too much work for CPU with uncapped fps?
And one more question , will installing new OBS will make NVENC from my RTX better or its already better in my current OBS version too?
Or quality will be the same and new OBS just providing better performance for this new NVENC which im already might using just by putting my OBS setttings to nvenc right?

I think this is the best surprise i could find in RTX , thank you so much for your help Dedrick, i just looked into quality it provides and its pretty amazing step forward from previous NVENC.

Good to hear. To answer your quality question, the RTX NVENC quality comes from the card itself, so you will have those improvements in either version of OBS.

In the 23.0 version the NVENC has improved performance that applies to all cards capable of using NVENC
