Streaming question for a dummy

Background:
I am teaching a friend how to use a specific piece of software. So far we've been sending screen-grabs back and forth, witch is very unwieldy.

Problem:
I'd like to be able to let my friend see my screen, so I can show him how to do things. Like a video stream. However, I'm not interested in starting any public streaming channel. This is for my friends eyes only.

Can anyone advise me how to set this up (I'm on Mac and my friend on Windows)? There's no need to bother with the audio. Is there any way to "publish" a screen image, so that my friend can access it, without the hassle of setting up an account with a separate streaming service, only using OBS?

I'd say any video conference software would be the winner (zoom, for instance).Too bad your friend's not on Mac or you could use iMessage screen sharing. Or you could use a remote screenshare software like Remote PC or other....many of them have free trials.

OBS needs to send the video somewhere

OBS can be used in that way but it's a hassle to set up and not really it's intended purpose.

I recommend just using Discord screensharing.
