Streaming on debian (KDE) without a screen

Hi everyone,

I’m looking to livestream sports events and have a question regarding a basic setup.

There will be two courts that need to be streamed. Each court will have the same configuration: 1 Debian 12 computer and 1 video camera connected to the computer using an HDMI capture card.

At the last event, I had only one monitor for three computers and needed it for the one used for match control. So, I set up the stream, started broadcasting, and then unplugged the monitor to set up the second stream. However, once I set up the second stream, I noticed that the first one stopped broadcasting. When I reconnected the monitor, I realized that the window manager had crashed (see attached image).

Luckily, I was able to borrow two Windows laptops from a friend, which I typically use for streaming, and that saved the day. Does anyone have suggestions for a more stable setup?

Thanks in advance!

Greetings from Germany
