Streaming OBS without infinitely recurring windows.

I am trying to figure out a way to do a "work with me" style stream. I would like to be able to work on my OBS scenes while it is on my stream so that viewers can watch me actively work. Does anyone know of a way I can achieve this without the mirroring occurring. I have tried running a second instance of OBS and while this does allow me to work with no mirroring it also did not save any of my progress on scenes I had added as a test of this. Any solutions would be welcome. Thank you in advance for any insight on this.

Your approach with running 2 instances of OBS is good and it's exactly how you should do it. The issue with running the same install 2 times is that one instance will overwrite configuration changes made by the other instance.

You need to use 2 distinct OBS configurations for this. One regular install and one portable mode install. You use one install (and running instance) for streaming your work and the other install (and second running instance) for showing within your stream what you want to show.

I suggest you use the regular install for streaming and the portable mode install for showing your work with OBS.

PORTABLE! I love it. Thank you so much for the suggestion! This will work beautifully.
