Question / Help Streaming disconnect multiple times on Facebook Live

Hey, last week I tried to stream a live DJ set on Facebook live.
Setup -
2014 Macbook Pro with Mojave 10.14.6 using the FaceTime Camera
Audio interface - Focusrite Scarlett 2i2
I use Traktor DJ software, running on the same Macbook, using a S2 controller, with that audio routed back into the Scarlett to record audio.
Running at 720p with audio bitrate at 256.
(also, i'm hardwired to my router, not using WIFI)

When I first started the stream, I was up and running for about 50 mins before the first disconnection. After that, I was disconnecting on average every 30 mins. And after I disconnected, Facebook would end the stream. And I would have to start a new one. While trying to start a new one, I would have to stop and start streaming in OBS multiple times before the video feed would show up on Facebook.

My questions:
What do you think was causing it to disconnections?
If there a setting within OBS or Facebook that if the stream was disconnected, that it would only pause it on Facebook and allow me to reconnect instead of closing the broadcast and forcing me to start another one?
Should I try YouTube instead?

I’m sure it will be the copyright kicking in on Facebook. Once it’s tracked ur stream, the 30 min window is them kicking u.
Use twitch instead as they wont block you when playing live but will mute any identified songs on the reply

That's not the complete problem. My stream stop on Twitch too, music playing or not.

i'm impressed you got 256 kbps audio to work, i thought the upper limit was 160.

i'm having the same cut out issues. Pretty sure its not OBS, as if i go via restream.io, to multiple destinations, then only the facebook steam dies

It seems to be related to the USB connection. It does not matter if you are using YouTube, Facebook or whatever other platform there is, if you are routing the audio through a USB Audio-interface (no matter which brand), you could have that issue randomly. I still do not know how to solve it.

The only way around I found was to connect the USB Audio-interface directly to my Canon Vixia camcorder 3.5 mm mic input and then connecting the Vixia HDMI output to the ElGato or any other Video Capture card you might have to the computer to stream using OBS. That way OBS never lose or drop the audio since it comes directly from the Vixia instead of the USB Audio-interface USB signal. Have never drop audio using that connection, but when trying back to use directly the USB Audio Interface, it happens rather quickly.

The downside of that option is that I’m connecting my USB Audio Interface using its RCA output (or 1/4 output jacks) instead of the much cleaner digital USB signal. I really would like to know what the people from OBS have to say about this bug.
