Streamdeck with hotkeys only working if OBS is NOT the active window (clicked off, to another window)

Hi, just updated to the latest OBS 26.0.0, LOVE IT!!! But I have noticed one strange thing. I have hotkeys programmed and at any time I can use the hotkeys on my keyboard, whenever OBS is the active window, or not to do that action successfuly, EPIC!!!!. However, I have the exact same hotkeys programmed to buttons on my streamdeck, they now only work while OBX is NOT the active window (clicked off, to another window), NOT epic!! This worked fine on the previous version 25.xxx.

I can hear some responses already saying "if you're in-game then you have already clicked away from OBS, so whats the problem?". Well my distiguished forum type person, I am capturing my Xbox footage, so I have not clicked away from OBS, so the issue remains.... yesss i know i could just click away and deal with it, but this was not an issue in the previous version. :P

This could be a issue that Elgato need to look at on the Streamdeck software perhaps, but thought I would put it out there anyway.

Hi I just got stream deck and having huge issues trying to get it to work with obs studio. First, regarding "reopening stream deck and reopen as administrator" there is nowhere in my stream deck app that allows that. I do have profiles.
Basically, I had obs working with hotkeys. Then I attached stream deck and basically lost everything on obs, and had to reprogram all the cameras and scenes. One or 2 of the scenes out of many would work when I tried to run from stream deck. But I've restarted both obs and stream deck and it has done it again - almost wiped and messed up obs. arg.

When its run as administrator, it is not an option within streamdeck.

You have to right click the streamdeck icon ( the one you use to start streamdeck), then click run as administrator.

I have the same problem as the original poster, but running as administrator does not fix this for me.
Yes, me too. Incredibly frustrating. I was using Lioronboard for months and that worked fine. Add a Streamdeck this week and tried to replicate the same Hotkey behaviour and it does not work.

Are you sure you both correctly ran Streamdeck.exe as Admin?

Go to where you installed the Streamdeck software (typically C:\Program Files\Elgato\StreamDeck) and find StreamDeck.exe.
Right click > Properties > Compatibility tab > Run this program as an administrator. From now on the Streamdeck software should always open as administrator. This worked for me and my hotkeys now work even when OBS is the selected program.
