Hello -
I am new to streaming and trying to figure out some of the basics related to sound, specifically best practices on capturing Xbox audio (gameplay and chat) and my chat.
Below are the devices that I am utilizing:
Webcam / Microphone - GoPro Hero 7
Game Console - Xbox One
Laptop - Lenovo IdeaPad S340 with Windows 10
Questions:
1) How does OBS capture my gameplay audio and gameplay chat? Do I need to have my laptop audio to play external sound, in order for my webcam to hear the gampay audio/chat (this causes an echo)? Or can I mute my external audio on my laptop and let OBS capture the sound while the laptop external audio is muted?
2) There is visual lag when OBS is capturing my Xbox Companion app (Xbox Companion App is clear as day, however OBS lags when capturing the display). I have read multiple articles on RAM space (my laptop has a AMD Ryzen 5 3500U with 2.10 GFX Radeon Processor and 8GB of RAM). I have also tried to decrease my bitrate in the OBS application and it still lags. Any tips or advice on how to better capture the gameplay visuals (e.g. is there a way to connect OBS directly to my Xbox, instead of Xbox Companion App)?
Everyone's help is greatly appreciated!
