Question / Help Stream Stutters / Lags on Twitch when FPS is set above 30

After hours of playing around with my OBS MP settings, I can't seem to be able to stream with 60 FPS, if someone could help me set this up so that I can do this, I would really appriciate it.

My internet download speed is 350 MB and my upload speed is 10MB

My build:

CPU: Intel i5 4690k 3.5ghz
GPU: AMD Radeon R9 Series
Ram: 8GB

Although I am still achieving 250FPS in game, if I go above 30 FPS in my stream settings, it starts to stutter, you can find the issue on my past broadcasts. ( http://twitch.tv/itzjoshtv )

Game I am trying to stream is CS:GO, and streaming that on 30 fps just doesn't work.

[x264 encoder: 'streaming_h264'] preset: medium

You need an i7 to be able to pull off Medium 720p above 30 fps, your 4690K is even struggling at 30 FPS using Medium (

So is there no way I can stream with a good quality stream at 60 fps? I Just put a bunch of upgrades on my computer specifically for streaming, and it would kill me if I couldn't. I wanted to be able to start streaming, build a community, and entertain people all over the world, but to do this I need to be professional, and I will not stream until everything looks amazing.

I'm not trying to crap on your dreams, I'm just stating the facts. Even 4790Ks struggle with Fast 720p60.

This is from a standard recording in Dust 2 on a 4790K

Most streamers use Very Fast or Faster when they stream 60 fps unless they have a dedicated streaming PC. The average Twitch viewer is more concerned with chat and the streamer than a few compression artifacts during motion scenes.

You can check your favorite streamers settings with R1ch's stream analyzer https://r-1.ch/analyzer

Streaming at 60 FPS at 720P is perfectly doable on your system. it's that medium setting that's ruining that. Knock it down to faster, see how it goes. Then from there, you can try Fast. Medium is extremely intensive and not really obtainable on an i5.

I do believe capturing from too high a frame rate can cause issues at well. considering limiting to a FPS around 150 if you can.
