Stream Goes Full Buffer when Switching from Game to Browser

I've had this ongoing issue where my stream dies when I alt-tab from my game )X-Plane) I'm streaming to my browser
(Chrome and MS Edge). However, OBS says it's still connected and streaming, with zero dropped frames.
Today I had it happen numerous times, and if I alt-tab to OBS it auto-reconnects within 30 secs. Then going directly to the browser causes the connection to drop. It won't reconnect until I bring OBS to the front.
Quitting OBS and relaunching doesn't help either.
HELP PLEASE!!!
