Question / Help Stream Freezes Randomly During A Stream

Hello all,

So I can't seem to find anyone else having the same issue I am running into. I am running my PS4 into an Elgato HD60s. Settings are set to 1080p and allowing 60fps. Everything runs smooth when I start to broadcast. There is not an exact time this starts to occur but it is usually about 10-20 minutes into streaming the video will freeze and stay there. I then have to go into the properties of the video capture that is calling the Elgato, deactivate it then reactivate it for it to then become unfrozen and show the video feed. Some time goes by and it happens again. Has anyone encountered this type of issue where everything is 100% working and no issues what so ever then all of a sudden the video freezes in the middle of streaming?

Thank you in advance for your time!

I don't know how to help you Killer Penguins, but I am experiencing this exact issue!

Sometimes I get 10 minutes before a hang, sometimes I get closer to 45+.. but it happens pretty consistently. I do wonder if it is software related though, here is why: When I first got my HD 60s, I had A LOT of trouble setting it up with OBS ( just like many other people.. if you google around.. ), I tried A MILLION things.. at the time, there was still a choice between OBS Studio or OG, and there were many forums that suggested a specific version of OBS Studio that wasn't quite the latest, that supposedly had the best HD 60s support.. I downloaded that version and everything was great for the longest time.

Then that last Win 10 update destroyed by HDD :( I had to reinstall EVERYTHING.. including OBS / Elgato software and everything else. When I went back to re-download, there was only OBS Studio available now, everything just seemed to work with the latest versions so I ran with it... I cannot seem to remember a single time that original fucked up OBS configuration every hung like this, now I can't seem to remember a time where it hasn't hung! I was just starting to google for a solution when I found your post.. Will follow this thread and post anything that I might find in here as well.
