Hello,

I've recently tried to set up a stream since my connexion is good enough now, but i can't have a super smooth stream.
My games are running perfectly fine, but the preview and stream are choppy.

I have no drop or lag frames on the stats dock from OBS but when i watch the VOD on twitch (Test Setup (nvenc) - Twitch) i see dropped frames in the advanced video player...
I also play on a 21/9 monitor with Gsync (i tried with it off/on, with lower frame rate, with a single monitor as well... Nothing change still some drops in the twitch player)

If someone experienced could guide me that would be perfect !
Thank you for your time.

fps: 60/1

If your game is running with more or less than 60fps, the recording can not be 100% smooth.
Also: Even if you run your game and recording with steady 60fps, the playback on a 100Hz or 75Hz device will not look 100% smooth.

For the smoothest recording/streaming and playback, you must limit the ingame fps to 60 and after recording/streaming you need to set your monitor refreshrate to 60Hz on the monitor, where you want to watch your recording.
The live preview will be smoother, if you set your second monitor (or wherever OBS is opened) to 60Hz.

It's definetly smoother ! (Test Setup 60hz second monitor 60 fps cap - Twitch)

But i have a question now.
How does a csgo, valorant, apex or w/e high fps required game streamer can stream it with uncapped framerate ?
From my POV the moment i uncapped my frame it's not smooth so i don't understand and i like to understand what i do...

Thank you for your time !!

You could use a multiple of 60fps for gaming...for example 120 or 180fps (both is not reccomended on a 100Hz Monitor), if the system can produce stable fps without many dips below that fps cap.
You could also use uncapped (and therefore fluctuating) fps in your game and record/stream it on a second computer with a capture card, but even then there will be either clipping or a a little stutter, when the recorded framerate does not match the ingame fps or the playback fps.

Thanks for all of those infos, I greatly appreciate it !! Well the best is to have a dual PC setup if you want to really enjoy your game and stream in good condition.

Do you think i can improve the quality of the stream based on this video ?
I've also linked the log from it :)

Thank you again for your time, sir !
