Question / Help Stream and Record at 720p on 2015 Macbook Pro.

Hi,

My current setup is a Mid-2015 Macbook Pro 15" Retina with a Blackmagic Design Ultrastudio Mini Recorder. Does anyone have the same setup? I've tested the stream and all went well. I'm about to do a 4-hour stream and I also need to record it at 720p as well. Will a Macbook handle this? Any known issues with this process? I know I could just try it but my internet at home is just 3 down and 0.3 up so I can't try to stream. I will be streaming it at a different location where they will have good internet (Last time I checked it was 50 down and 30 up) Sadly, I won't be back there until next week.

Should be able to record 720p30, yes. Your results will depend on the CPU preset and quality rating you select-- at a higher quality setting you'll need larger files (and faster write volume), more compression means smaller files but more CPU usage; slower CPU presets will mean better quality at a given bitrate/filesize but more CPU usage; faster settings mean less CPU load but lower quality at a given bitrate/filesize.
