OBS doesn't need that. It already does it natively. Did someone sell you some malware?video recording add-on to OBS
If it does it natively why does OBS offer this source recorder (which I downloaded and installed)?OBS doesn't need that. It already does it natively. Did someone sell you some malware?
You only said, "video recording," with no further qualifiers. OBS has a native button already to record the main output, with no add-on needed. If it does it natively why does OBS offer this source recorder (which I downloaded and installed)?

The Source Record plugin adds a filter that you can put on a source, and record that *instead* of the main out.
If you're having problems with that specifically, then you can ask on the Discussion page over there.
But since we're here, what are you doing anyway?

It's difficult to miss that, because it's in plain sight directly visible all the time. If your OBS doesn't look similar to this, I recommend you do View > Reset UI and Docks > Reset Docks.I couldn't find the native button to record
Thanks very much koala that was very helpful. It's difficult to miss that, because it's in plain sight directly visible all the time. If your OBS doesn't look similar to this, I recommend you do View > Reset UI and Docks > Reset Docks.
OK I am posting a link now for my Log File. I read it and noticed it is very 'game-centric'.Please post a log with your issue! Here's how...
OBS Studio creates a log file each time you run it which contains very useful diagnostic information. Without a log file, it's much harder for any support volunteers to figure out problems and your post may be ignored. To upload a log file, go to the Help menu > Log Files > Upload Last Log...obsproject.com
Also, an image like the one posted by koala will be useful.
Issues with a plugin is better to ask on the discussion section of the particular plugin page.
Good news! But I immediately noticed that the new installation has messed with my AHK hotkey setup. :(
I worked for some time to get my script set up so that I could press a hotkey to:
a) load OBS if it hadn't been loaded yet today
b) minimize OBS if it was showing on screen
c) restore OBS if it was minimized to the task bar.
Now when I press my hotkey OBS isn't minimized. Rather OBS asks me if I want to start a second version of the program.
