Hi,

I just installed OBS Studio and I wan to setup a FB Live stream from a pre-recorded viceo. When I select the source, the video starts to play.

How do I coordinate the starting of the video with the starting of the streaming. Bascially, how do I start and stop the playback of the video so I can have it start when I want and then start the streaming.

The video starts as soon as the scene is visible. In order to do what you want, you can have a duplicate scene that has everything except for the video, and then switch to the scene with the video when you want to start it.

So I could have the first scene contain just the first slide of the presentation as a static picture, then start the FB Streaming, then switch to another scene with the full video in it.

Usually, you don't need a tight sync between starting a stream and starting to show the content you want to stream, because you always have to wait until your viewers connect to the stream. So, usually you create at least 2 scenes in OBS: One "starting soon" scene where you show a generic static image with a text that your broadcast will start soon.
The other scene is your actual content. You go live any time you like and show the "starting soon" scene as long as you like. But since the stream is running, your viewers are able to tune in. If you are ready, and you have the attention of your audience, you switch to the actual scene and start the show. Media sources can be configured to (re)start when the source becomes active, so they can start as soon as you switch to this scene, and here you have your sync.

How do you configure a scene to restart when the source becomes active. Right now, when I switch to the video scene it has already started. ...Never mind, I found it. Everything is working the way I want now.
