Hi,
I've installed OBS several times. I frequently use Audacity to record things via Stereo Mix. However, OBS adjusts the volume of my stereo mix somehow, turning it way down. When OBS is open, the volume is much lower. Closing OBS raises the volume back to normal.
After installing OBS, if I start to record in Audacity through the Stereo Mix, the volume goes way down. It's impossible to adjust the volume coming through the mix correctly, because if I turn it up before recording, it's blaringly loud, and if I set the volume correctly before hitting "record" in Audacity, it's way too soft. It even messes up some internal settings (Acer F5 Windows 10 Laptop) so that if I even open the "Recording Devices" window in the Windows sound settings panel, the sound goes way down again. If I click on "playback devices" in that same menu, the volume returns up to normal.
I am glad that I finally figured out what the hell is happening to my computer, and that it is directly connected to OBS's management of my stereo mix. Even uninstalling OBS doesn't solve this problem. The only way to fix the issue once OBS has jacked up my system is to reinstall Windows.
Does anyone have any other ideas about how to fix this issue without reinstalling Windows? I want to be able to use OBS, but it takes hours and hours of work to reinstall Windows and all my software.
Thanks!
