Bug Report Steadily increasing audio buffering while OBS is open

While OBS is open, while streaming or just sitting idle, the logs show it is "adding X milliseconds of audio buffering", and will continue to do so until the audio completely cuts out. I've seen quite a few posts describing exactly what I've said, and there seems to be no response as to what's going on or if it's going to be fixed. This is the sole reason I have not switched to studio and am still on classic. If this problem could be addressed that would be fantastic.
Edit - Something I never said OBS classic does not have this problem.

1> bitrate has no bearing, but resolution does
2> actually it does, especially if your system is having trouble keeping up with either audio or video.

Not a lot we can do with a pentium processor involved though

Thanks for the responses, but I'm still not seeing why this would't be a bug. Even if most people don't have this problem because their system can keep up, it's still not something that should happen. Classic didn't have this problem, so it's definitely something fixable.
I might be wrong here, but the fix seems to be something as simple as just periodically removing that audio buffer.

Except that doesn't solve the root problem.
If your system can't keep up, the buffer is REQUIRED for the stream to even function

I don't mean to repeat myself, but obs classic doesn't have this problem, so there's no reason it should be necessary. I'd also like to point you to this thread with the same problem, but much better specs

with a similar but not the same problem.
You're using a no-name usb capture device with what is very likely an overloaded usb bus.
His is using a blackmagic brand card in a capture method that is improper for the device.

Although the reason it happens may not be exactly the same, the problem is. OBS just keeps adding delay to the buffer without ever undoing it.
