I would really, really, really love to be able to use OBS as my recording software. It's stable, doesn't seem to have any inherent issues, and is pretty user friendly. Until I try to start recording, that is. Each and every time I attempt to start a recording, I get the error:
Failed to start recording
Starting the output failed. Please check the log for details.
Note: if you are using the NVENC or AMD encoders, make
sure your video drivers are up to date.
Now I've searched hell and back trying to fix this issue.
Most of the time, the answer is an issue with NVIDIA (I have AMD). I read somewhere that it was an issue with a discrete graphics chip in AMD laptops. The menu in Radeon Settings to view and possibly correct this issue doesn't exist anymore.
I'll attach the log to this thread. If anyone has any fixes or help to give, please do so.
