Starting capture without toggle key?

Installed OBS two days ago. Immediately big problem are the keys to begin and end the capture (to disk). OBS has failed to begin the recording for some reason; maybe double press or just mistage.

I want the begin and end keys to work without toggle. For example, if F7 begins the capture and if I hit F7 accidentally twice, the capture stays on. The same way with F8 which ends the capture.

I hit capture when I'm playing a game and I don't see the capture state. If I want begin the capture reliably, I hit F7 multiple times until I'm sure one of the hits started the capture. Likewise with the end with F8.

Anyway, already multiple failed captures due the toggle feature, or something.

OBS toggles only if you set the same Hotkey for both starting and stopping recording. So if you set them separately that part should work.
But we recently noticed that some games for example tend to block the hotkeys. In simple, obs does not see the hotkey being pressed.

What I personally do in this case is trying to run the game in window mode for a test and keep obs open at the side, to see if the hotkey works while I am in the game. (if you have two monitors, keep obs on the second monitor to see if it starts recording)

Sorry. It already works as I want. Earlier I did not spam the start key because I thought it is a toggle, and I handled the key extra carefully, too carefully. Now I spam the start key and the stop key multiple times to be sure what is going on.
