Question / Help Start streaming / recording buttons stopped working

Hello guys, new around here.

I started using OBS about a month ago but recently i cant make it work as it used to.

I stream using the NVENC H.264 codec, used to work fine when streaming through the oculus rift.

Lately i push the start streaming or recording buttons and they don't do anything at all.

I checked the log and there is this line : [NVENC encoder: 'streaming_h264'] Failed to open NVENC codec: Generic error in an external library

If i use the x264 codec, it works fine.
If i close Oculus home, the buttons work again as normal with the nvidia codec.

Any ideas why this happens?

Hi! Please post a complete log file that shows a streaming/recording session that exhibits the issue that you're describing.

That said, there may be an issue with NVENC and the Oculus Rift due to an Oculus software update.

Yeah, sorry, i missed that thread, i guess its because of the oculus firmware updates... strange :)

No problem. Might want to check with the Oculus folks to see if they know it's an issue.
