Question / Help Start Recording button does not (AMD VCE & AMF)

Hi there,

Just started using OBS. I have a AMD R9 390 and when I setup obs to record using either AMF or VCE the start recording/start brodcasting buttons do nothing. x254 encoder works although i have a high loss in frames. quicksync does not work either. Under advanced, it doesnt show my gpu either, it's just greyed out.

I am running one monitor off of my gpu and another of integrated graphics if that makes a difference or not.

I think you cant use such an high resolution. Downscale to something below 1920 width.

R9 390 can only do 1920x1920. If you absolutely need that resolution, you will have to upgrade to a newer GPU.

Do you mean it can only record in 1920x1080? Because my gpu is fully capable of rendering in 2560x1080.

Your GPU is not capable of encoding that resolution. Rendering is not the same.
