Question / Help Stargazer Realsense Green Screen not working

Brent Mason

New Member
Hi,

I have a Stargazer Realsense camera which works in "standard" modes with OBS just fine (after some tweaking of course).

When I try and use the Realsense 3D Camers Greenscreen all I get is a grey screen. At the bottom of the OBS Camera config it says "No properties available".

Below is what I'm finding in the log file. (Full log file uploaded). I should have plenty of CPU and RAM available.

An advice on where to look would be much appreciated!

Thanks :)

I see two errors in the log here:

Code:
07:42:28.526: [win-ivcam (IVCamSource::CamThread): 'Intel(R) RealSense(TM) 3D Camera GreenScreen 2'] SegServer initialization error (-2)

and

Code:
07:42:31.812: DShow: Run failed (0x800705AA): Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service.

I can't find much on the first one, but the second one seems to indicate that the USB hub is overloaded. Is this connected to a USB3.0 port? Does it work in Intel's software directly?

Hi, thanks for your help. The camera is plugged directly into a USB 3.0 port (no external hub in between). I could try plugging it into a 3.1 hub to see if that helps.

You mentioned Intel's software. Can you be more specific (link)? I'm happy to install and test if needed.

Hi Fenrir, yes, intel_rs_dcm_sr300_3.3.27.5718 has been installed on the PC for a month or two now. To be sure I did download a new package and tried to install. When I ran the installer the only option given was to "remove" so I'm confident its running.

Now my next question, what programs are available to execute based on the install? I've looked in all the folders with Intel in my start menu and no utility options for scanning or anything like that.

I've cleared up the "Insufficient system resources", not sure exactly how but its gone now.

When I open up OBS and add a 'Intel(R) RealSense(TM) 3D Camera GreenScreen 2' it comes up with a grey screen and the OBS Crashes. Uploading crash log too as well as the OBS startup log.

The crash is definitely coming from the camera drivers themselves. Does Razer not provide any software to use the camera with? I don't have a RealSense camera, and I've never used one so I'm just going off what I've researched.

Here is the reply from Razer:

Brent, I understand from the email that you want to use background removal function through OBS. Is that right? If it YES, then we're truly sorry this function is only applicable if you're using XSplit.
So, if you want to use OBS and a realsense green screen, DON'T but the Stargazer!!! Kind of a BS answer since they don't point this out in the packaging, only buried deep in the FAQ.

OBS has realsense support.

OBS has realsense support.
Hi Osiris,

Yes, I do see the option but I've never been able to get it to work. Are there some instructions or a youtube video that show how? I've LOVE to use it and rescind my comment but even Razer says it doesn't work with OBS.

Any directions / pointers are greatly appreciated! :)

Thanks,

Brent

Also, since I put in my original request I've re-imaged my PC and the the same results. When I pull up the Intel Realsense 3D camera screen OBS crashes. Per support above from OBS, it is the camera drivers that are at issue... per Razer, they don't support OBS only xSplit for Green screen. So, I'm still stuck...

We might have an idea what causes this crash. Standby.
You will be my HERO!!! Thank you :) I've attached my most current log and crash files from earlier this morning.

Unfortunately while we've identified the crash, it won't help you get the camera working as the crash was caused by the RealSense software failing to start up. The error code -2 means "SERVICE_INIT_ERROR" which seems to imply the RealSense service / driver isn't loading. Perhaps the Windows Event log might have more information.

I still see that you have the camera added a bunch of times. Can you remove all the instances of the camera from all your scenes, and then add ONLY the realsense source?

Hi, removed all the cameras, closed OBS restarted and added ONLY the Realsense. I get a grey screen but no video. Not crashing now though, so that is a good thing. (standard windows camera is working so I feel good that at least the hardware is working.

I've attached the OBS log again. (I reviewed the event logs and nothing popped out at me, I'm happy to share those with you but don't want to post them publicly).

I also checked to be sure I have the latest driver versions, which I do.

Hi Brent,

I has the issue same as you. when install OBS and Intel Real Sense plugin, the system will show Intel Real Sense Runtime Error, but if i only install Intel Real Sense R2 Runtime form intel, the installation process is smoothly.

I not sure the issue root cause because XSplit also has same problem and Intel Real Sense 3D Camera Green Screen not working.
