sRGB support advantage?

So, whats the new sRGB color space support for?
Faster? more precise? Is it good for streaming or recording (lossy/lossless)?

It's probably introduced for being more standard-compliant with digital image processing. As far as I understand https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SRGB, it's a de facto standard for generic digital image processing. The other color spaces (601, 709) are standards primarily for analog or digital TV distribution. 709 is very similar to sRGB, but not the same. And since OBS aims for digital video creation and not TV material creation, it's a natural step to use sRGB instead of 709/601.

It's all only a matter of convention, not really a matter of quality or performance. Quality at least not for such low end users like us - in professional video processing this may matter, but not for you and me. But if you care for quality, sRGB isn't worse than 701, so quality isn't a reason to not use sRGB.
