Question / Help Sources List completely empty

I'm new to OBS and have been trying to set it up, but I'm unable to add any sources whatsoever. Window Capture, Game Capture, no matter which I choose, the list is completely empty.

The image only shows Window Capture, but every other option also turns up empty (with the sole exception of Audio Input Capture and Audio Output Capture).

I've added OBS to Exceptions in Windows Firewall and it doesn't help. Any advice is appreciated.

You need to press OK to add the source.

In your screenshot, the two widgets "Create New" and the second widget that says "Window Capture", highlighted. These mean that you want to create a new source with the name "Window Capture" (or whatever name you'd like to type in). Press OK to add it.

The third and fourth widgets, "Add Existing", and the empty list box you see, are for adding an existing source that you've already created again. So for example, if you wanted to add a source you already created but that source in another scene (like a webcam), you would add it here. Essentially, it creates a duplicate (or reference for a more correct technical term). That source will then display and flow seamlessly between both scenes when you transition between them.
