Source record with Chroma Key

When I record my game play with my cam, I used source record to seperate my gameplay and cam video. So I will get 3 videos whenever I record,
"gameplay + cam"
"gameplay only"
"cam only"

and I applied Chroma key with my cam video to make my green background transparent, but the source video make the transparent part in black color instead. so the result is

"gameplay + cam" works fine with the green background become transparent
"gameplay only"
"cam only" the transparent part become black in the video

which if I edit the "cam only" with Chroma key in video edit software(not recording in OBS), it removes all BLACK color including the background and my hair and my black shirt.

I wonder is there a way I can make the "cam only" transparent part become specific color I choose like green?
I found that there is an option in Source Record filter called Background and I can choose color, but the outcome is still black
Any suggestion how I can tackle the problem?

Thanks a lot and sorry for my bad English

As of November 10th, 2025. this problem still exists. If anyone has a way to solve this or if this could be fixed it would be great. thx

I had the same issue and I think I just found a workaround. So instead of applying the chroma key filter directly to the source, I created group, put the source in there. And then applied the chroma key to the group. That way, while streaming you wont see the green screen, but when source recording it will pick up the green screen nonetheless.
