Hi there, I'm getting a terrible flicker on my web sources screen. It's there before broadcast and after. Can anyone shed any light on how to fix this? Thanks for your help.

Hi,

I am getting the flickering also. It happens whenever I use the "Window Capture". It flickers so badly that it is unusable.

2012 MBP, 16GbRam, 2.6 intel i7
Mac OS Mojave 10.14
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB
Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB
Logitech c920 Webcam

Please help, Wirecast is way out of my budget.

I'm seeing this on 2 different Macbook Pros as well, with fresh installs of OBS on each. I'm doing Window Capture on a Firefox window with no animation or movement - just a static web page - and the preview view and recorded video both flicker/flash/blink.

Here's the log: https://obsproject.com/logs/oxjjUtVcTOiSXBZ6

Hmm, I don't know then. I am on High Sierra and am not experiencing flicker in window capture, but I also haven't used Firefox in years and generally use the browser source for web content rather than trying to capture a web browser window.

Safari and Chrome windows don't seem to flicker.

In any case this is probably separate from the OP's problem which was probably related to the browser source rather than to window capture on a browser.

I see the flicker while doing window capture from every app I've tried, including Safari and a non-web-browser as well.

Have you tried to repro with a blank OBS profile and scene collection, and with a different user account? I think this is going to be difficult to repro without more information, because I can't recreate this in HIgh Sierra with any of the hardware I have (Mac Pro, MacBook Air, Mac Mini).

"Profile" and "Scene Collection" are top-level menus.

Profile > New

Scene Collection > New

Using this makes sure that nothing bad that might have happened to the files or settings in your profiles or scenes are contributing to the flicker.

I've tried new profile and new scene collection and it didn't work for me.
I'm using macOS Mojave 10.14.2.
Problem is only related with "window capture" source.

@Narcogen: I created a new profile and scene collection and still see the flicker. I've also updated one of my laptops to macOS Mojave and see the problem there too.

Then the problem is just the degradation of the window capture method under Mojave.

I cannot verify this or suggest a workaround as I do not run Mojave anywhere.

This happens on macOS High Sierra as well with a new profile + scene collection. Perhaps I should try booting into safe mode to see if OBS can do flicker-less window capture in that mode: that will eliminate some of the other software running on my Mac as causes.

Im here, with same problem... Macbook Pro 2019 with MacOS Catalina 10.15.4. When the source is Window (Chrome for example) OBS flicker too much. But, if i drag the Chrome to the front the OBS stop the flicker.... (sorry, my english is very bad... my first language is Portuguese)
