Question / Help Soundcard stops working when connecting second camera

Hey guys.

I have a problem.
I'm running OBS in windows from my macbook pro (mid 2014). I'm using OBS to live stream Dj gigs from clubs and bars.
And with one camera (Logitech 920) and the soundcard (Traktor s6) connected, it works perfect. No lag, no delay, just smoothness.
But when I connected a second camera (another Logitech 920) via a USB Hub today, OBS stopped accepting my audio signal from my sound card.

I've tried switching between the 2 main USB hubs and the external one and it still stops working when a second camera is connected. It is possible to run the 2 cameras simultaneously without the sound card. So it's not the two cameras interfering with each other.
Could it be that the computer can't handle more than 2 devices at the same time? I've bought a good USB hub with separate power supply, so it shouldn't matter.

Does any one have an input or at least a theory why this occurs?
Thanks in advance!

I had a lot of trouble with my 920 interacting with other USB devices. I found that it really wants a whole USB port to itself. In the end, I was able to share it with a wireless mouse dongle, but I had to keep the hub powered, even to support those two devices.
I would suggest taking the hub out of the picture (fewer potential causes of trouble) only using one camera per USB port, and see how you go. Since you have two cameras and the soundcard, you're going to need at least 3 USB ports to do this, and I'm not sure if your laptop has that many. Good luck!

Is this an OBS-specific issue for you, or do the soundcards fail in other apps, too?

Thanks for the reply!
That's the problem, I only have 2 USB ports...
I can have both cameras on the shared USB hub (Plexgear Desktop 500 USB 3.0-hub) so they don't seam to have any problems with that.
This is the first time I have needed more than 2 hubs so I have never tried it with another program.
I find it so odd that the program just stops importing the audio signal. I can see on the sound card that the audio is coming though and that it is fully functioning.
I can also see all of the devices in the device panel when they are connected. So it should not be the hub that is the problem.

I've also tried with the classic version and it all works there. So it has to be something in the program that causes this

Sorry mate it sounds like a different problem to the one I had. I wanted to make sure your C920 wasn't the culprit but I think it's best I bow out and leave this to someone more knowledgable with OBS (who can explain the "data.GetDevice failed" error message)
GL!
