Question / Help Sound with DeckLink Mini Recorder

I am running Linux Mint 18.2 and I am using OBS to view the video on my DeckLink mini recorder. I cannot get the sound to work. I know things are working because it works fine on Shotcut. The sound bars are moving so it would seem that they have a signal, but nothing comes out of the speakers. Attached is a file from my desktop, you can see in the Mixer section that there is a signal and the video works perfectly. I can't get to the bottom of this audio problem. Does anyone have an idea?

Thank you,
Lucas

Did you enable the Decklink to output to your desktop speakers? (Top menu->Edit->Advanced Audio Properties).
Did you set your audio monitoring device? (Settings->Advanced->Audio->Audio Monitoring Device)

If you don't have that option then you need to update OBS, or build from source.

Hello,

There is no where on that screen to enable the Decklink to output to the desktop speakers. Take a look at the attached file.

Regarding the audio monitoring device, that sounds like it may help... where do I click on Settings->Advanced->audio->Audio Monitoring device... (is this within OBS or elsewhere in the Linux environment.

Thank you for your help,
Lucas

Hmm... That option shows up for me, but...
1. I build from source.
2. I'm running it on CentOS 7 which has PulseAudio (and the reason I know about this option is that I helped the person who wrote it to debug it).

Since you're running Debian/Ubuntu/Mint (and I never have) I can't really go much farther than that.

You may need to install Pulse Audio Manager to help debug as well. Sometimes audio devices get disabled or it sends audio where you aren't expecting. You can change some of this using paman.
