I'm doing hybrid presentations, where half the audience is live in the room with me and all this hardware, and half is on Zoom. I've almost got it all working, but I can't figure out this last problem.
I need to send OBS Studio's output to our local sound system (and a projector for the video) and also send it to Zoom (both audio and video). The video's easy thanks to OBS's Virtual Camera. The audio is a lot harder. Looking around the web and forums, it seems like the VB-Audio Virtual Cable plugin should be all I need to make this happen, so I'm trying that.
The problem is that if I set the monitoring device (File/Settings/Audio/Advanced/Monitoring Device) to use the virtual cable, there's no audio out for our sound system.
And of course if I set the monitoring device to be the sound card in my PC, there's no audio to Zoom.
But then I discovered that if I enable Track 1 in the Advanced Audio Properties for the source, I will get the other audio output I need. However over time (or at least over switching scenes) this sound falls out of sync with the video to the point where it's unacceptable.
So my questions are:

So my questions are:
- What am I doing wrong?
- Is there a better way to accomplish this?
- How do the "tracks" work? Why does selecting Track 1 magically send the audio to the device I need? Is that assigned somewhere?
