Question / Help Sound Registering, but OBS not 'Hearing'

Howdy,
  • Dual PC's
  • All sound is being funneled through a Steinberg UR28M, so the only way sound is currently making it to the 2nd machine is through the Monitor
  • OBS and the UR28M's software are on the same machine
  • Sound is registering on 2nd machine as indicated (red arrows are pointing to the sound levels) ANGL 1 (mic), and ANGL 3/4 (gaming machine stereo sound)

But while the sound is actually making it to the 2nd machine OBS is only hearing the Mic (ANGL 1).
I have set the Audio Input Capture > Device to Line (Steinberg UR28M), however it only 'hears' the Mic.

Since I can control levels other ways, I don't care if OBS hears all the sound coming in from the same source.

I know this is possible, because I did it with this exact same equipment about 4 years ago but here I am almost 5 hours in & I haven't solved it yet.

If you have any questions which might clear something up in order for some feedback, please let me know & I'll do what I can.

First off...thank you!

This looks promising, however after installing (the correct 24 version), It does not appear in OBS after restart of OBS & restart of machine.

I used the installer & it said it was going to install in my E:\OBS directory. I thought this was a bit odd as I figured it would install in the obs-plugins folder. When it didn't show up I did the following...

I moved a few files/folders around & now have obs-asio.dll & obs-asio.pdb in the 64bit folder & the obs-asio folder in obs-plugins...where I think they are all supposed to be, but it still does not show up in OBS (24.0.3).

Howdy...solved the issue & will be making a new post with a solution as the title to this post may not help those in the future with the same issue!
