I think I need help. I'm trying to record from VHS to mkv (or whatever would work best). IIRC the first couple of efforts seemed to go OK but then the last two have caused 'frame drops' (I don't know a better term for it) in the audio wherein the video is fine and the audio starts out OK but gets messed up after a while. There is a consistent 'click' in the audio output although I never noticed it while monitoring the actual recording process. One of the projects was so bad the wave form looked like a square wave on a scope. The audio is there but with a noticeable 'click' or 'pop' through out. It seems to get worse the longer the file is.
I believe the original tape is NTSC @ 29.97 fps but OBS always changes it to 30 fps. I think I read somewhere that that difference can add up after a few thousand frames and cause problems - but I don't know.
So what is the best way to set up OBS to record from a VHS tape?
