I am new to OBS though spent already quite a few hours trying to figure out why I have this issue. I have recorded a live stream which in the beginning went well (both display and sound was recorded), but after some time the sound was not recorded anymore. This happened when there was an issue with the live stream and I had to refresh the URL (google chrome).
I would think this kind of recording should be very simple and straightforward, though last week I had the same issues. Sometimes sound is recorded and sometimes not even though I don't change the settings. I tried to resolve trying different settings but the only thing that sometimes seems to work is to close and restart OBS studio. I feel very uncertain now with OBS studio as it seems impossible to check if sound is recorded while recording, the audio output capture bar lightens up which is misleading to me.
I have attached the log of the latest recording. Here are some of the settings I used, most of which is just the default of this software.
- Sources: Display Capture and Audio Output Capture (device = default)
- Desktop Audio muted
-Settings output: output mode = Simple, recording format = mkv
- Settings audio: advanced - monitoring device = default
At last, I have my laptop connected through USB with a docking station, and a speaker set connected to this docking station.
If this is a known bug in OPS studio, I would appreciate if somebody can recommend me a more reliable open source software.
