Sony - Handycam FDR-AX700 4K Premium Camcorder to OBS??

I have a friend with this new Sony camcorder. It does output clean HDMI. Outputs are HDMI (not sure if it is full or mini); and USB (doesn't specify which flavor - hoping USB C). It is also a 4K cam but I only need HD. I assume if get a BlackMagic Capture Card/Cable (Mini Studio - HDMI to Thunderbolt) it will work in OBS? I will connect to my new 16inch MacBook Pro. What type of input do I add/select in OBS? NDI or Video Capture Device?

2nd: I also want to bring an "Audio Out" through an AUX out from a Mackie analog board. I intend to use either the new M-Audio 192 series audio interface or Focusright Scarlet interface. From what I understand that should work. I think they both handle analog/digital signal. Same question, what type of input? Audio input capture?

3rd: When I open OBS on my MBP, it can take a long time to open or not open at all. I have to "click" to open a 2nd time before the app opens. Then it's fine. Any input? I am running latest version of OBS and latest version of OSX (Catalina). Thanks for any and all comments. ))

I have an HDR-VX700. It's a great camera for the size and money. The VX700 has a clean (incompressed 4,2,2) output with a full-sized HDMI connector. I use an AJA U-Tap input card, HDMI or SDI to USB-3, plus an USB3 to USB-C dongle. USB3 is fast enough for 1080p60. OBS recognizes the AJA card.

You can input stereo audio to the VX700 via a 3.5 mm TRS plug. It's a mic level input, so you need to drop the analog signal at least -40 dB. The AX700 also has a multi-interface shoe, which can be used with a Sony XLR-K3M Digital Interface. The K3M has two XLR connectors, with mic/line/phantom switching. Audio is embedded in the HDMI signal.

I have a Scarlett 2i2 USB interface, which is also recognized by OBS. You probably need to insert a 4-8 frame delay to sync with the video. I typically use an ATEM switcher, and inject the audio into the switcher by -4 dBm balanced outputs. It is automatically synced with the video that way, before any OBS processing delays.

OBS starts right up in my MCB (2016). You might try uninstall/re-install.

I understand most of what you said. )) So, you insert the delay in OBS for audio?

Eventually, we will have something like a BM Atem Mini Pro.. but for now, two AV feeds: 1) (SonyCam) - Full HDMI to HDMI input of BM UltraStudio Mini Recorder. Thunderbolt 2 cable (BM device is Thunderbolt 2 out only) to Thunderbolt 2/USB-C Apple adapter (as you know, new MBP's have USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 only); 2) Audio feed (Mono XLR main output) from Mackie Board to a new M-Audio Air 192 | 6 audio interface. So, basically two inputs. But will have some graphics, and overlays, etc... In the novice stages. )) Will be streaming LIVE to Facebook. Will also record through OBS for later editing in FCPX.
