Bug Report Some OBS settings reset back to default, after changing to a new display language for the first time

Hi everyone,

I didn't use OBS in ages, so this was the first OBS installation on the current system. I wasn't able to find any thread on the current issue, so I assume it might just be related to the latest version 19.0.2 (64bit). A bug report on the Mantis Bug Tracker https://obsproject.com/mantis/view.php?id=888&nbn=2 was something I was able to find. But the attending devs weren't able to reproduce and verify this issue, so I wanted to give the guy's case some confirmation.

First I set up OBS in my native language (German), fiddled about with a couple of settings, cause "OBS Studio" and its interface were new to me, but still looked very familar. Long story short: In the last step I changed my language from German to English (cause English is usually the go-to language with all my apps on the system) and realized that all the settings I had just made were missing / set back to the default installation state.

To test this further, I set up my (now) English (and defaulted) OBS with slightly different settings than I did with my German one before, in order to be able to spot potential differences. I applied the English options, changed the language back to German and restarted OBS. All settings (stream/output/audio/etc.) were not the ones I had just set up in the English version, but the ones I originally set up for the German version right after the installation. So everything except for the scenes and sources stayed in their respective "language version". Scenes and sources were the only two exceptions. These stayed exactly as I labelled them when adding them in their respective languages.

The last thing I did was change the language to Danish, just to see if it would behave exactly the same as before. And it did. Neither of the settings I did with German display language nor English display language were showing (except for the scenes/sources). Everything back to default again.

Would be good to know if other users here are experiencing this issue and what I (or we) could do to help you guys find the cause.

System:
Windows 10 Professional 64bit [/w Creator's Update & all current updates (as of 06/07/17)]
32GB DDR4
i7 6800K
GTX 1070
OBS Version 19.0.2 (64bit)

Kind regards.

Edit: Tried to remove the "some" frome the title, since it's basically all settings that are being reset when using a new language, but unfortunately my browser blocked "more options..." due to "potentially dangerous code". So I guess it has to stay as is.

The UI is quite a messlike that. Scene collections = makes sense. Profiles = no idea what they are for.

Profiles collect every setting not included in scene collections, for example streaming server settings, encoder settings, base and canvas resolution. If you frequently need to switch streaming services, you can create one profile for each streaming service.
