Question / Help [SOLVED] Stuttering issue returns in recording/stream, but smooth FPS in game

Hey! I thought I fixed the issue yesterday by running OBS in administrator, but today OBS is definitely in administrator and the same stuttering issue is appearing. Doing normal, non-intensive activity in WoW that shows smooth FPS in game still turns up as extremely fragmented in OBS footage, both in recording and streaming (not a server/Internet connection issue).

OBS and WoW are both running on my NVIDIA card at high performance. Task Manager shows CPU, RAM and GPU usage at middle-high usage but never at or above 100%.

After a computer restart the issue improved a bit, but the stuttering returned when I tried to record again.

I find that upping Process Priority to High pretty much fixes the problem, but causes my in game frames to drop noticeably, which is expected. Does that mean my processor is just not good enough? I have an i7 7500U 2.70 GHz.

Update: solved by switching encoder from x 264 to QuickSync H.264. Now while record/streaming + with game open, CPU usage is less but the Intel graphics card usage is more. The footage is now silvery smooth!

Glad you managed to solve it. Was going to ask for a OBS log after the update, since it fixed some performance issues but I see it's no longer needed.
