Bug Report (Solved) Settings not always saving/changes not showing

Edit 3: This is why troubleshooting late at night is a bad idea. Xaymar posted that having a preset would override your settings, which I didn't even realize. Please ignore this thread x_x

Edit 2: I'm honestly not sure what's going on.
At first I was having an issue relating to settings not saving (see original post below), as well as CQP recording not working well.
After switching to CBR, I am able to record, but in Settings, OBS is displaying recording mode as CQP (though the log says I'm using CBR, if I'm reading it right). So... either I'm losing my mind (totally possible at 11PM) or OBS is messing with me.

Original post:

While trying to troubleshoot a problem I'm having ("Start Recording" button not working while using CQP and AMF encoder) I noticed settings weren't saving. E.g., I could change I-Frame QP, click Apply, click OK, open settings back up and it's back to what it was before I changed it.

Haven't yet tried restarting my computer for this (I have for the CQP issue), but I'll report back when I do to see if that fixes it/changes something.

OBS Studio 0.16.4, Crimson version 16.11.2.

Thanks for taking the time to read! :)

Edit: After restarting OBS, I successfully switched from CQP to CBR, so I guess it only happens if I try to rapidly change settings? (Settings > Tweak > Apply, OK > Try to record > Settings > Rinse and repeat)
