Question / Help [SOLVED] Elgato Getting No Sound

Hey Guys,

So I am using the Elgato Game Capture HD (Original) and I have the chat link cable and everything setup. In the Elgato software I have the audio set to analog. When I am in the Elgato Software, I am getting game audio. But in OBS, I am getting no audio at all. I have no log file to submit for right now. *now added log*

Update: I went to configure video in the settings and also checked for analog audio but that didn't seem to fix the problem.

Also worth mentioning that in the configure video, the audio bar is moving and picking up the sound but in the obs audio window below the preview screen, the bar is not moving.

This is from your log:

14:24:05.389: [DShow Device: 'Elgato'] settings updated:
14:24:05.389: video device: Elgato Game Capture HD
14:24:05.389: video path: __elgato
14:24:05.389: resolution: 1920x1080
14:24:05.389: fps: 30.00 (interval: 333333)
14:24:05.389: format: UYVY
14:24:05.424: using video device audio: no
14:24:05.424: audio device: Line (Elgato Sound Capture)
14:24:05.424: sample rate: 44100
14:24:05.424: channels: 2

Can you please attach a screenshot of OBS Studio's entire 'properties' window for this Video Capture Source? Seems like something must be misconfigured.

I seemed to have fixed it. I had the audio set to line in for some reason xD. Thanks for responding. :)

I'm having the same probelm now. These are my logs:

10:03:07.098: [DShow Device: 'Elgato'] settings updated:
10:03:07.098: video device: Elgato Game Capture HD
10:03:07.098: video path: __elgato
10:03:07.098: resolution: 1280x720
10:03:07.098: fps: 60.00 (interval: 166666)
10:03:07.098: format: UYVY
10:03:07.098: using video device audio: yes
10:03:07.098: sample rate: 48000
10:03:07.098: channels: 2
10:03:07.098: audio type: Capture

I'm noticing I dont have the audio device under 'using video audio' don't know if this has something to do with it. Also my audio is set to capture audio only and advanced properties are Monitor and Output. It was working fine for almost a year and then suddenly stopped working without me changing any settings.

You should update OBS. Current is v23, you're still using 21. Download it manually, that version has a broken auto-updater.

Are you seeing active audio input from Elgato in the mixer, but it doesn't end up in the stream or recording? If so, check device and track assignments in Edit > Advanced Audio Properties.

If you're getting no audio from the device, I'd open the Elgato software and check where that is set to receive audio from (which ports).

Thanks.

I've updated to the latest version, I get audio when I'm in the elgato software just not in obs. I have the advanced properties set to monitor and output.

Is OBS not getting audio at all? Are you getting audio but not hearing it? Or are you hearing it, but it's not getting into the stream?

Don't know then. It looks like you've set up everything properly. There seem to be several similar complaints just this week about Elgato and audio issues, I wonder if some recent update has broken something.

Huh, weird. Yeah everything was working fine and then all of a sudden it stopped working. I tried downloading Slobs and it worked for the first time and then had the same issue there. Hopefully it'll be solved soon.

Thanks for the help anyway!
