Question / Help [Solved] After 1.6.2 Update, OBS No longer records 60fps

(OBS Studio) Just as the titles says, my videos are not coming out at 60frames. More like 40ish, I have compared it with shadow play and there is a big difference. I re-downloaded 1.6.1 and no luck. All my settings are the same as before and when I updated my recordings were freezing up and stuttering really badly. After tinkering around I got the video back to normal except my frames. And yes, my video on obs is set to 60fps. Oh, and now I have to have OBS Studio minimized while recording otherwise I get weird glitching and stutters in the video where it is open on the screen. (That one is really throwing me off) Any thoughts? Thanks

Can you post a log? Without a log we won't have any idea what is going on. Also, have you tried updated to 0.16.2? This is the latest version, and has a few extra hotfixes in it.

This log has no stream/record attempt in it. Also, please don't post the logs directly in the post, it's best to use the OBS log upload feature and post the link.

Are you using Simple Mode and the recording presets? These settings look off for that.

No, I am using advanced settings. This is throwing me off because I have recording a ton of video before with this same exact set up with no hitches until the update.

Your settings are kinda crap for local recordings. You should really just use Simple Mode and the presets, unless you know exactly why you need advanced settings. In the case of OBS, Advanced does NOT mean better.

What would you suggest to be changed? I want complete control over everything when I am recording, especially bitrate which isn't an option in simple mode.

I also need to record 3 different audio tracks and I am not seeing that option in the simple tab.

Multiple audio tracks is a valid reason for using advanced mode, however you shouldn't use set bitrates for local recordings, You should be using CQP which is a quality control. Best to research that for better results. Simple Mode would handle this for you, which is why it doesn't present you with a bitrate option as it doesn't use set bitrates.

There is a wonderful guide here for advanced high quality recording settings. Basically, for NVENC recording, try:

Rate Control: CQP
CQP: 20
Preset: High-Quality
Profile: high

Adjust CQP or the Preset from there if you need to make adjustments.

Keep in mind that recording a resource intensive game like Overwatch at 1440p@60f is probably going to be very taxing, and any other resource usage on your system while doing that could affect it.
