Windows 7
In OBS Classic I was able to window capture snes9x just fine with no issues and worked great. However I decided to try to upgrade to OBS studio and now using window capture, snes9x doesn't show up under the list of window (heck most of the windows I have open dont show up under studio but shows just fine in classic). Livesplit (which I use as a timer) shows up fine and is able to be window captured but Snes9x does not show up at all. Game capture does nothing and given below, I cannot run the emulator in full screen.

I do not run the emulator in full screen as I have to have additional windows open as reference and do not use a 2nd monitor. I really dont want to use display and crop to the area that I have the emulator at as display capture is laggy and not needed.

What worked fine in classic doesn't work anymore in studio. I'm confused.

Log file.

kaspersky

also, never had to worry about Kaspersky with the older version of obs but studio just refuses to see most of the windows that are active on my computer (doesn't see Firefox, Paint, Discord either as valid windows when all show up in the older version of OBS with no issues).

Turning off and Disabling Kaspersky did not fix the issue. Snes9x and other windows like Paint/Firefox/Discord do not show up as a selectable for window capture.

Window Capture works totally fine with Snes9x, tested from here the 64bit version(default settings just opened a rom): http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/snes/snes9x.html

Either Kaspersky or your obs studio installation might be missing something or faulty

I want to thank you guys for the help. Uninstalling and re-installing obs studio actually worked and now all windows show up. Dunno why I didn't even think about trying that first. Had to just be an install issue.
