Smooth recording, seriously stupid lag on playback

I’m using a windows 10. Can’t get the information right now. My download speed is in the 600s (mbps) and my upload speed is in the 500s (mbps). I’ve watched every video, read every forum, and tried everything. For some reason the recording is smooth and the playback is crap. My CPU usage is always below 5%. And yet even the simplest games have noticeable lag. Sophisticated games (Fortnite) playback at literally one frame a second! I’m using a NEVEAD encoder (don’t know exactly how it’s spelled). I’ve set it to where all my computer’s resources are being poured into processing the video. Even with all this, the playback is garbage. The crazy part is I’ve set the frame rate to 30fps and this is happening. Please tell me what to do. (You don’t even wanna know what the playback looks like at 60fps). I’ll post an example video when I get the chance.

How strong is your laptop? I had the same problem but when I switched to 30 fps it worked fine.

I'm no big techie, but you should do a test video or upload a log file. You're probably losing a lot of frames because of encoding lag. I've also heard turning off Xbox Game Bar helps, it's in Windows Settings somewhere.
