Smart Lower Thirds

Smart Lower Thirds 2.4.1

Hi,

Thanks for working on the update. Unfortunately, the animations still don't work here.

I tried completely uninstalling the last version and even making a different folder in my docs and recreating all lower thirds from scratch. No luck.

Just fyi here is my exact procedure.

  • Install plugin using the Windows installer
  • Created a new folder (slt) here: C:\Users\MYUSERNAMEl\Pictures\YouTube\OBS\slt
  • Started OBS and chose the folder above (in the SLT dock)
  • Created some lower thirds with very obvious animations, like rubber band etc
  • When I click to show the lower third, it shows up fine but with no animation at all
I notice that in the timestamp html, the url still exists:

<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/animate.css/4.1.1/animate.min.css"/>

And I do not see any local animate.min.css anywhere in the folder.

Cheers

Ahh Ok I see I missed the step (found the latest video on your site), of manually downloading animate.css from github. Will try again and post back.

OK, followed steps in video and still no animations. I placed the animate.min.css in the "slt" folder mentioned above.
I can see that the html does indeed now point to: <link rel="stylesheet" href="./animate.min.css"/>
But even after deleting all lower thirds and creating new ones, then hitting Save and Apply, although the link in the html seems correct, there are still no animations.

In case it helps, here is the "slt" folder and its contents:

Aha OK solved it. :-)

I found a video that explains this:

So basically, it is due to Windows settings. If you have Animation effects turned off, animate.css doesn't work.

In Windows 11, (not shown in the video above), you need to go to: System, Accessibility, Animation Effects and toggle it On. You can then go to (Run): sysdm.cpl if you want to disable other animations.

One more thing, I am noticing that the Profile Picture Transparency does not seem to be working as expected. But this is a small issue tbh.

Here is the image:

And here is how it shows in SLT:

OK once again fixed with css editing:

background: transparent;

I guess in future it would be great to get all these options as controls. But this is a really great plugin. Thank you for your hard work.

Glad you figured out how to get the animations working. As for the lower third styles what I provide is just a sample you can create your own custom styles

Hi, i installed the new version, but it only fades in. It doesnt fade out anymore. It doesn't matter which seconds I set for the fade out, it stays there. May be you have an idea or solution?

No, thats not my problem (even i have done it). My animations are working from the fresh installation. It fades in totally fine. But i stays there, it doesnt disappear anymore.

have you switched from an old version to the new one ? If yes then delete and recreate the browser source because I had to do a lot of changes in the script to work correctly after the removal of local webserver support.

No, it was the first time, i installed it today. May be its a problem with other plugins i have installed, i will try a little bit.

Just upgraded to 2.4 on linux. Opacity and radius, which are new, seem inoperative.
Also, it would be really nice to have fine grained control over position.

Hello, opacity and radius in the new version will become usable only if you use the placeholders in the code html/css. As for the positioning you can freely position through updating the CSS. I'll come up with another tutorial about this soon.

Hi, Thank you for this plugin. Can't wait to use it! however, I am on a Mac and don't know where to look for that folder that creates a source. It appears your example for windows shows that once you find the folder a source appears. I follow the steps to that point and am not sure how to create it. Should one of the sources be browser, but I thought you can do this off- line. Thanks!

In the last version I have added a patch that allows you to create and control your own browser source. Just create a blank browser source, click on the refresh button on the dock to reload the available sources then select your source. Since I never used MACOS and the plugin for MACOS is compiled through GitHub workload I couldn't test the plugin, you can join my discord channel and I may be able to guide you https://discord.gg/2yD6B2PTuQ just DM MMLTech
