I am testing OBS to record/stream some of vinyl mixes, I held a stream and the audio appeared ok, but on reviewing the recording I have small cuts in audio every 5 seconds or so. I have updated drives and set and match 44k or 48k audio and still no different does anyone know of a fix please. I have a relatively new PC, and CPU load is at 0.1% while recording. I am using 3 cameras and my audio out from my roland dj808 record out. log file https://obsproject.com/logs/soxo1GkI5ZEcCG4r many thanks

No idea what Norton360 is doing.

Disable HAGS

2.9.64 appears to be the newest driver available for the Akai but not sure about the firmware. Install firmware first, then driver. A quick search lead me here:

Thank you, interface is on current firmware and driver. I thought i fixed it as i downloaded update roland driver for my controller which appeared to work , but upon pc restart i have the same issue. I have also disable norton firewall and protect while recording but still no difference

It could be updated but a dud, does the Akai operate as it should? All 4 channels, 16/24-bit, 44, 48, 88, 96k?

If it's stuck with only 2 channels @ 16/44, it's not working properly.

Akai is working properly all 4 channels, I reinstalled Roland driver, and changed the buffer size to max, and it worked fine, but doesn't retain when i reboot. I am sure its the Roland, as when i reinstall driver, the "record out" sets to default, I have no issues recording the camera audio, but when I switch to the roland record out then that's the issue. my only work around at the moment is to fresh install the driver if I want to record.

ok, so I set Akai to 44.1k and it is an hardware setting on the Roland to change to 44.1k- when these are matched (and on OBS) i get no audio at all. when i move back to 48k i get audio, but the same small splits in sound. I have an old roland duo capture interface somewhere, so i may switch that out with the Akai to be sure.

*Fixed* swapping out the interface was the same issue. I set the roland to 96k and all appears fine recorded for about 6 mins and no cut, where previous attempts clips ever 5-8 seconds. . for some reason, 44.1 or 48k doesn't work?

I looked at the Roland yesterday, didn't see anything about that on the site & I didn't download the manual. Don't know too much about that piece.

Probably a long shot but something to check as the OBS log only shows sample rate. I looked at the specs for the Roland, I see D/A @ 24-bit & A/D conversion @ 32-bit. Maybe something in it's path is only operating @ 16-bit?

Thanks for your help on this, i think now it is the interface. The akai supports 24bit at 96k no mention of it in the manual going up to 44.1k or 48. The roland appears fixed at 24 bit.

How about the Windows sound control panel, did you double check all the devices to make sure they are operating @ 24-bit there? I noticed if you change the speaker configuration from Stereo to Multi-channel or make certain other changes it will reset back to a 16-bit configuration. Windows updates sometimes can do it to.
