Question / Help Sluggish Game while OBS is open?

When i'm trying to record e.g Counter-strike Global Offensive, the game runs fine at decent fps, but when im recording and having OBS open, even behind the game. it's sluggish, like im running at 30fps intstead of 300fps.

I was Wondering if you can for example, lower the res of the preview or make the preview take less performance, because for some reason, as said, its making the game sluggish.

Specs:
Ryzen 1700 @3.875ghz
GTX 970 @15%^ Overclock
16gb 3200mhz DDR4

Have you turned off nvidia's in-game overlay in geforce experience yet?

I dont use Experience, it causes more problems than it fixes.

I suppose i havent turned it off as i dont have it installed?

Then you're going to need to make sure it is off, as it's one of the many many many conflicts that can cause this issue.

Conflicts with Game Capture: Other capture programs, Razer Synapse (disable heatmaps), graphics mods like ENBSeries and SweetFX, and any type of software or utility that displays an in-game overlay like EVGA Precision, MSI Afterburner, RivaTuner, TS3/Mumble overlays, Dolby Axon, Raptr, Overwolf, etc. If you use D3DGear it must be uninstalled completely.

Nope, even still, when obs is open either in background or on secondary monitor, the game is sluggish. like its running at either a pretty low fps or hz (around 45-60, pretty unstable)
