Heya,
So I'm fairly new to the whole streaming/broadcasting with OBS, but I have a question about something which seems to have changed recently.
I use OBS to stream on twitch and up until recently I was streaming at 720p/60fps using a 3000 bitrate and the x264 encoder. I also recorded my streams through OBS using the NVENC H.264 encoder in the 'Output - Recording' tab of OBS. This used to be all absolutely fine, game would run fine as I was playing it and the quality of the recording was great.
But now, in the last few days something seems to be messing up when I stream - no matter what I change in the streaming tab the stream is horrendously choppy and low fps (it looks like it's running at <10 fps most of the time).
I have a CPU that as far as I know *should* be fine with streaming even at a relatively good CPU Usage Preset (i5 7600K @ 3.8GHz).
I've even tried lowering the settings to stream at 720p/30fps but again it seems massively choppy and I'm not sure why (and there's also the issue that despite being happy to *stream* at 30fps, I want the *recording* to be at 60fps for when I upload them to YouTube.
If I switch the Streaming encoder to NVENC H.264 the issue goes away and it runs fine, but I've been told there is quite a quality difference and I've noticed when streaming with NVENC there is a massive amount of pixellation/blurryness so I'd rather use X264 if I possibly can.
Any help or ideas would be amazing! As I said it was working fine with the x264 encoder literally a few weeks ago, but now I just can't seem to stream with it at all.
