Question / Help Slight lag in CS:GO with OBS up

Hi

My computer setup has three minitors. I have csgo in the middle and then I have OBS and the twitch chat open on the left monitor. The reason for this is so I can see who follows/donates me on the stream in real-time.

My problem now is that when OBS is running (I don't even have to have the stream active, just the window open) I can feel a slight lag in CS:GO and it gives me a disadvatage. As soon as I minimize OBS, this is not an issue anymore. Even if it's still running in the background.

Does anyone have a potention fix to this? I need to see OBS while playing, but playing with lag is not an option.

I use OBS studio 32-bit and windows 10. I stream with my graphics card (gtx 970) since my GPU (i5 2500k 3,3GHz) is a bit too weak.

Svampsi,

I only run dual monitors and I have OBS and task manager open on my left monitor while playing half-life 2 to monitor system resources, bit rate of OBS, and the such with no lag.

Do you know what your system resources look like when you are experiencing this latency?

I would also look into what web browser you are using to see if its hogging resources. I know chrome is notorious for eating ram like a fat girl in a cake shop after she got dumped before her wedding.

Without a proper log file I can only speculate. You should try without the web browser and see if that helps

Thanks for your replies, good to see that i'm not alone.

Sad to tell you though that I tried with a different browser and it's not a difference. I can feel a noticable difference in smoothness when I have OBS minimized. But I really really need it maximized so I can see followers, donations etc when they come in. Any more suggestions to this issue would be most helpful!

Edit: Logfile attached if you wanted. I never started the stream though, only opened OBS and tried some CS:GO deathmatch with OBS both minimized and maximized.

Edit 2: I found a similar thread for the regular OBS from over a year ago. I tried the answer in this thread but it did not resolve my issue.
