Hey,

i try to setup OBS for a skype interview. I use NDI to get the person I called in the window.
What‘s the best way to get me into the stream? Should I use the webcam or also NDI?

i tried the webcam and use the microfone from the mac. But the problem: It‘s also recording what I hear in the inbuilt speaker

thanks for your help

You can use the NDI. But you should also turn your speaker off or use headphones. There's no way to isolate a microphone in the room from audio coming out your speakers in the same room.

Hey Nacogen,

thanks. I tried using headphones for the call but I didn't hear anything. Trying the same situation with my wife, recording was no problem. But in this case, it didn't work. The other person had Skype for Business. Maybe that's a problem?

Version of skype used should have no effect.

Not sure what you mean when you say "used headphones for call but didn't hear anything".

You should be able to choose any output device accessible to MacOS as a destination for Skype audio, and whatever method you use for aggregating a hardware device (speakers or headphones) and a virtual device (iShowU, SoundFlower, LoopBack or other) should work just as well for Skype as anything else.

I know how to switch between the output devices, but skype showed me something like "Speaker disabled". Hmm, I will have to try it more often. Tried it twice - one day it worked, the other one not.

What are your best practise showing skype interviews?

thx
