Question / Help Skype NDI internal, network, source timing?

Hello there,

I wonder what's the difference between these three options in Skype NDI Source Settings.

Is it better internal than network when making a Skype group call?

Is it ok to have these kind of settings?

Thank you

Those settings are for all NDI sources, not just Skype.

Internal sync - your computer uses its own clock to keep sources in sync.
Network - your computer uses a clock on your network to keep sources in sync.
Source - your computer uses the clock from the origin of the NDI source to keep sources in sync.

If you're using NDI to get video and audio from Skype running on your computer to OBS running on the same computer, there is absolutely no difference between internal and source, as your computer is the source. (Your skype participants aren't producing NDI, they're sending audio and video through Skype, and the Skype app on your computer converts to NDI).

As the NDI is originating on your own computer, whether you use an internal clock source or an external one doesn't matter in this case. Leave this setting at default. So the "network" setting means nothing here either-- you don't have two sources to keep in sync using this method, nor are you keeping the origin and the destination in sync with each other, since both are your computer.

What about two computers on the same LAN, connected over NDI. Should I use "network" or "source timing" setting?
